United Way focuses on four vital impact areas

Helping Children and Youth Succeed- Ensuring a quality start for underserved children; reducing high school drop out rates; improving basic literacy skills.

Fostering Self Sufficiency - Moving families and individuals beyond poverty; responding to people in crises; connecting people in need of help through 211.

Caring for Seniors and people with disabilities - Helping the elderly and people with disabilities live independently, with dignity and respect.

Accessing Healthcare – Helping people in need get access to quality health services and identify and manage chronic disease.

No single group can solve complex problems.  That’s why we partner with neighborhood organizations and community leaders to:

Pinpoint the Need – Build Strategies – Mobilize Partners & Resources – Measure and Report Progress to Donors.

The United Way of Millburn-Short Hills grants donations to targeted programs offered by local organizations to benefit our children, our elderly neighbors and others in the midst of family crisis or who are victims of abuse.  In other words, your funds will go directly back to your own neighbors, helping to improve their lives.
